How can I bid on a job when I haven't seen it?

The short answer is that it seemed like a good idea at the time. The longer answer is that we saw an un-met need, people were looking for good plumbers, builders, window cleaners, web developers etc. and the other people who we knew in those trades were all looking for more work. The feedback system is there to let good people get more work. We think the recession is an obstacle that we can all work together to overcome. Some people live busy lives and sometimes it'd be nice to get someone else to do the jobs at home (washing, cleaning, etc.) so they can relax and do something fun instead. We're here to support local people and local businesses. |

Lots of reasons: the best things in life are free; we'd like to become a big name; the internet should be as much of a free resource as possible (I am a huge fan of wikipedia); times are hard and we'd like to help people out by giving them opportunity to get as much work as they can; all the stuff you need to post a job and get work on the site is free but there are upgrades which add value to your profile for businesses/sole traders; we think the advertising revenue should be enough to keep the site running (but feel free to donate ) . |
How can I bid on a job when I haven't seen it?

You can put in a provisional bid and ask the employer to send more details/pics etc. The process isn't finalised until both parties have agreed to the quote. |

What does paypal credit to 1lessjob account mean?

You have a site account, you can choose to pay people to their 1lessjob account. If you want to pay people directly that's fine too (through paypal or otherwise). |
